Bachelor of Science

Electronics can be found everywhere - from the coffee machine to your car. Our bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineer Technology is designed to teach you the engineering and technology skills used to develop the devices that power our daily lives.
The degree offers students realistic, hands-on experience in engineering-related project management, teamwork and technical writing. Upon graduation, our students are equipped to enter the field as electronics engineers, quality control engineers, electronics systems engineers and more.

Associate in Arts

Our 2-year Associate in Arts degree pathways are designed to instill the highest-quality foundation in engineering technology principles. Upon completion of these degrees, students may continue to our bachelor's degree in electronics engineering technology. Past students have also utilized our associate’s degrees to earn their bachelor’s degrees at institutions such as MIT and Georgia Tech.

Associate in Science Degrees

    Advanced Manufacturing Technology 22030
The purpose of the Advanced Manufacturing Associate in Science degree is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skill sets necessary for careers in manufacturing with an emphasis in industrial device and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The program prepares students for employment as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician or Production Technician in manufacturing settings.

Students will be able to:
  1. Discuss financial metrics where industries in this sector are involved and how decisions made concerning the manufacturing process affect the financial metrics on all financial statements.
  2. Develop specifications using normal distribution in a manufacturing environment
  3. Develop sampling plans and process improvements using the binomial distribution.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the factors and statistical tools that are used in lean manufacturing
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of design of experiments and proper used of analysis of variance in the development of a process that is statistically in control and meeting customer desired requirements through the entire buyer experience cycle.
    Computer Engineering Technology 26052
The Computer Engineering Technology Associate in Science degree is designed to prepare students for employment as computer engineering technicians and in related occupations in electronics. After completing the program, the students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer systems architecture, software fundamentals, communication interfacing, peripheral equipment, customer site requirements and considerations, customer relations, high-level computer programming languages, computer networking, the use of microcomputer disk operating system services and functions, analysis and design of data communications systems and peripheral equipment used in computer systems, as well as, demonstrate appropriate communication, math, science and employability skills.

Students will be able to:
  1. Properly write basic code that will perform fundamental tasks.
  2. Design fundamental circuits that are used in small or midrange systems.
  3. Make financially sound decisions in the design and maintenance of hardware designs.
  4. Demonstrate the understanding of the term efficiency and how it is important in the design and operation of a computer that is classified as either ‘sustainable’ or ‘green’.
  5. Perform basic hardware design and write code used in the proper sizing design of a computer.
    Electronics Engineering Technology 26039
The purpose of the Electronics Engineering Technology program is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire the skill sets necessary for careers in various fields of electronics technology or to continue their education towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology. The program focuses on how to analyze, assemble, install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment and circuits used in industry. The program prepares graduates for employment opportunities in R&D laboratories, maintenance workshops, and electronics-related industries.

Graduates of Miami Dade College’s Electronics Engineering Technology will be able to:
  1. Analyze, assemble, test and troubleshoot electric circuits following accepted industry procedures and practices.
  2. Analyze, assemble, test, and troubleshoot digital and analog transmitters and receivers.
  3. Analyze, assemble, test and troubleshoot and operate basic microprocessor and interface input/output devices.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in using simulation software to analyze and troubleshoot electric circuits.
  5. Demonstrate effective written communications and teamwork skills.
  6. Able to learn how to use new equipment.
